HAGS by Aaron Jan

"HAGS has a fierce momentum that pulls you into its cautionary hot-take on the dangers of ideology" - Istvan Reviews
"Fascinating and Disturbing" - Slotkin Letter
Commissioned by York University for their 2020/2021 Theatre Season, HAGS played November 22-29th 2020.
HAGS (Hamiltonians Against Groups of Sadism) is a horror play that takes place entirely on conference call software. The play chronicles an online encounter between a young, left wing activist group and a dangerous alt-right militia as they attempt to survive being held hostage in their video-chat room.
HAGS explores the act of forgiveness in vengeful millennials. How do we find justice in online spaces? When do we go too far in our pursuit of a better world?
