INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR STEREO TYPES by Angelica Reid
BARREN PLACE by Nicholas Simao

"This really is must-see fringe theatre. This is what this festival is about" - View Magazine
Winner - Audience Choice Award - 2022 Hamilton Fringe
Directed by me as a part of the House Key Project for the 2022 Hamilton Fringe, INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR STEREO TYPES and BARREN PLACE were performed in two intimate, site specific locations within Theatre Aquarius as a part of Porch Light Theatre's residency - namely the bathroom and the old accounting office.
My production played with durational activities like silent, mundane tasks as well as encounters with the supernatural from multiple, unseen speakers. My direction explored the transformative power of other voices on biracial bodies, and altered the physical and sonic space of each performer until they spoke their climactic truths.
